Today I have a quick and easy Christmas project for you which will add a touch of color and whimsy to any space.
I had an empty space in the foyer which was begging for some Christmas decor. At Thanksgiving I got this big ole box from my brother. It came out of our grandparent’s linen closet and I’m sure one of these days he will regret giving it up, but I’ll let him have visitation rights…because I’m a kind sister.
Anyhoo, this gal was needing some Christmas spirit to make her shine. I wanted it to be budget friendly, so I started out by shopping the house first to see what I could use. I came up with 2 new 8×10 frames which I had bought on clearance last Christmas at Michael’s for $8 each (they had been $30 each!).
The frames had spent an entire year in my Thrift Store Closet. I’m sure you have one of those, too. You know, it’s the closet where you store all of the great thrift store finds that you just couldn’t pass up, but once you got them home you had no idea what you could do with them so in the Thrift Store Closet they go! Well, that’s where these babies ended up.
I downloaded and printed free Christmas printables from On Sutton Place (check out Ann’s blog while you’re on her site getting these printables. I’m in love with her style!). I cut them to fit my 8×10 frames. I was planning on adding mattes to the frames for an extra splash of color; however, with the frames I was using it made my pictures look too busy.
I added a vintage basket, wreath, colorful stockings and a big snowman to finish out the space.
A nice improvement don’t ya think?
